Commis Chef

Salary: £15,000 to £18,000 dependant on qualifications and experience
Hours: Full Time
Start date: As soon as possible (subject to relevant pre-employment checks)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Commis Chef to join our team at Rosemary Shrager’s Cookery School in Tunbridge Wells. Ensuring that Guests receive a 5 star experience at all times is our priority so a professional yet friendly, outgoing manner is essential.

Rosemary Shrager’s Cookery School offers a wide variety of cookery classes as well as an excellent and innovative fine dining experience so this would be an ideal opportunity for someone with a desire to gain training and experience within a fantastic team, to aid both their personal and professional development within the catering industry.

Working as an integral part of the kitchen team, you will assist with all food preparations for guests whilst maintaining outstanding levels of cleanliness, hygiene and safety within all working areas. Details of duties are as outlined in the job description.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure and in hot environments. Attention to detail, high standards of personal presentation, flexibility on working hours, a can-do attitude and effective communication skills are essential as you will be working with customers on a daily basis. Previous experience and food hygiene certification are desirable but not essential as training will be given. The role also requires lifting of heavy objects.

Please note that the Cookery School generally closes late December through to mid January for which annual leave will need to be taken.
