INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT WORKER

We now have an excellent opportunity for an Individual Support Worker to join us at our Residential Centre in Perrys Close, Faversham.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT WORKER:
As a support worker you will be providing support and care for the people we support with the aim of helping them to be as independent as possible and to achieve their personal potential.
There\'s no such a thing as a typical day, every day is interesting and varied. From providing personal care or emotional support to supporting someone in the community with food shopping or social activities such as swimming, eating out or attending healthcare appointments. You will be providing support that makes a real difference to people\'s lives.
There is also some important admin to do as well, such as dispensing and recording medicines for the people you support, along with updating support records on our computer system.
Whatever your day includes, as a support worker you\'ll need to be patient, caring and a great communicator. You\'ll also need to work well as part of a team and be happy speaking to other healthcare professionals and family members of the person you\'re supporting.
The successful candidate will also have the following experience and qualifications:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
A positive and compassionate attitude towards care
Energetic approach to support with social activities
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn
Team player
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Experience of working in challenging behaviour services
NVQ Level 2 or higher in Health and Social Care (Adults)
Experience and/or knowledge of epilepsy
Hold a full driving licence and be willing to drive

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT WORKER
SALARY - £15,300.00 per annum - Additional £60 per Sleep In if applicable
HOURS - 37.5 hours per week, on average
SHIFT - A two week rolling rota of split shifts, which also includes long days, weekends and sleep in\'s.
You will be working four days one week and three days the other, which will included one day at the weekend.
Location - Perry\'s Close, Faversham
INDICATIVE CLOSING DATE: 3rd May 2018
