Due to the continued success and growth and subsequent restructuring within the Accounts Department an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Controller. Based at our Head Office in Rochester we are looking for a dynamic individual that is willing to work hands on within the accounts department. Heading up a small team of c6 staff the role entails working closely with all the department heads implementing and improving financial controls to support the delivery of projects within agreed budgets. The company is part way through the full implementation of Sage 200 accounting systems throughout the business and the successful candidate will be expected to help manage the continuation of the implementation process. Therefore a knowledge of Sage 200 and/or a similar software implementation would be advantageous, although not essential.

With a turnover of 10 million pounds and operating from three UK offices, our business provides high profile clientele with permanent power solutions and maintenance support contracts together with rental solutions for temporary power. Previous experience within a similar industry would be advantageous.

Financial Controller Job Duties:

• Oversee all company accounts and investments
• Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
• Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
• Supervise and manage financial department staff
• Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including stock control and procurement
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
• Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
• Report to the Directors with timely and accurate financial information

Financial Controller Skills and Qualifications:

Ideally you will have several years’ experience in a business or finance environment; management experience; leadership skills; interpersonal skills; outstanding mathematical skills; honesty; integrity; reliability; solid written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail; organisational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; research skills; analytical skills; computer skills; understanding of data privacy standards
