Host Families

Channel English Studies are looking for warm and welcoming families to receive a student/two students in their home for short term contracts, usually a week or two weeks throughout the summer months. Students live as family and share your family life, e.g. chatting, watching TV, going for walks or shopping. It is important that there is always a family member available throughout the stay. We need clean, comfortable accommodation and people who like to show visitors a little of life in the UK.

Host Teachers

We are also looking for host teachers who combine hosting with teaching in their home. Normally 10, 15 or 20 hours per week of individual lessons. Teachers should have either a degree, PGCE, TEFL qualification, QTS status or relevant experience. We provide course materials, resources and arrange development days.

About Us

Channel English Studies is a family run business and has been offering these courses for the last 25 + years. Many of our existing host teachers and families have worked with us for a long time. Equally many students also return year and after year to their ‘English families’ and strong bonds are built between the students and family members. Younger family members often enjoy having a ‘big brother or sister’ to play with!

Finally we offer competitive fees, strong, sympathetic support on both the academic and social aspects of the courses and our Area Organisers are always available to visit you during the stay.
