Senior Estimator - Metal Fabrication Industry – Structural Steel, Steel Fabrications & Architectural Metalwork.

Our Client based in North East Kent was started in 1984 & have steadily grown to become an established metal fabrication company operating in the general construction industry, specialising in the rail (over ground and underground) sector. As an experienced and established contractor in both the Construction & Rail Industries, they have been supplying quality bespoke metalwork, associated products and services successfully and completed a number of varied contracts for major UK clients across the UK.Working with all types of materials with a variety of finishes, from a simple handrail to a major structural steel work project, whether it's supply only or a full Design & Build contract, our clients product range includes structural steel work, architectural metalwork (Including feature staircases and balustrade), general steel work refurbishment and repair works to structures. All works are bespoke, and to meet client requirements, they pride themselves on a high level of project management, including close collaboration from the initial design phase, to develop design intents into workable solutions.

Due to ongoing expansion, our client is seeking pro-active individuals who are highly motivated, dedicated, who are confident professionals with suitable experience in the steel industry to join our project teams based at our North East Kent works on a Permanent basis. You must have vast experience working on Rail projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To work alongside the existing team of 3 estimators to prepare tender bids and financial estimates ranging from £5,000 to £2 million.
• To analyse the content of tender specifications and drawings and use the information identified to build a cost schedule suitable for use as a formal tender bid.
• To coordinate the preparation of al supporting documentation required in the tender bid.
• To communicate with clients regarding the tender and to present the final submission to the client.
• To assist in the pre order negotiation process with the client.
• Value engineering – to propose alternatives to specifications in order to reduce cost and / or improve quality and efficiency.

Candidate Requirements:
• At least 5 years’ experience of estimating
• Ability to undertake a reasonable level of technical and financial calculations
• Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent IT and numeracy skills.
• Excellent time management

Package:
Position: Permanent

Salary:Negotiable/in the region of £30000.00 - £50000.00 P/A depending on experience
