Your background should be as an experienced auditor, or through having considerable experience in the accounting and audit sectors. Real enthusiasm for software is essential. You will need to be commercially aware and enjoy the challenge of improving systems and working practices. Above all, you will be able to communicate between a wide range of stakeholders in the product, including end users, developers and senior staff.

You will not lose touch with auditing and the accounting profession. It is likely that your knowledge will actually increase as you will work with such a wide range of clients, who will expect you to be the expert. Ongoing CPD and professional fees will be supported.
