The Company & The Opportunity
We’re a small but rapidly growing business with an ever-expanding range of innovative products.
We’re looking for an experienced and energetic Warehouse Manager to join us at this exciting time in the company’s growth. Overseeing a large team, you’ll be responsible for our entire warehousing and assembly line operations.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the following:
Packing/assembly operations:
- You’ll run our busy production line which assembles and packs thousands of consumer products every day
- You’ll produce daily & weekly workload/production planning schedules, ensuring all orders are fulfilled on time
- You’ll manage the production line team (including a mix of full time, part time and zero-hours team members) plus a team leader and two forklift truck drivers
- You’ll recruit new members of the team and oversee their training
- You’ll organise and lead projects to improve productivity levels with a view to always be improving efficiency and reducing costs
- You’ll be responsible for Quality Assurance, ensuring that all goods coming in and going out are of the highest quality and meet our customers specifications
Stock Control
- You and your team will be responsible for the entire Goods In and Goods Out process
- You and your team will conduct weekly and monthly stock takes, reconciling any differences
- You’ll use your warehouse experience to maximise our storage space and ensure we are storing goods safely and efficiently
Other responsibilities
- Day to day operation of the warehouse
- Loading and unloading containers and trucks
- Booking and coordinating with couriers
- Contribute towards site and process improvement initiatives
- Set high standards of behaviour and performance within the warehouse team
- Ensure compliance with all issues relating to Health & Safety, the environment and security
- Key holder for the building
The Applicant
You will have the following skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Good standard of English language
- Experience of running warehouses
- Experience running assembly/production lines
- Knowledge of stock control and warehouse management systems and practices
- Good people management skills
- High degree of attention to detail
- Good IT skills, particularly a good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience of dealing with 3rd party couriers and freight forwarders
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation
Beneficial (but not essential):
- Licence to operate forklift truck
- First aid qualified
