A leading, progressive commercial office design and build company based in Sevenoaks Kent, is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager. This is a great opportunity for an experienced client facing, commercially minded individual, looking to work within a fast-paced team environment. Applicants must have strong negotiation skills, and NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management and CSCS Black card.
The Role / Duties
As an astute ‘can-do’ professional you will deliver quality projects both to time and budget. Responsible for the general day to day management and tracking of multiple projects, controlling, costing and organising contractors, materials, budgets and timelines, and for ensuring that client requirements and project deliverables are successfully achieved. Prior to project commencement you will effectively mitigate all known risks through implementation of robust Risk Assessment strategies, execution of Company procedures, and alignment to the highest standards of Health and Safety, HSE statutory requirements, and statutory Environmental obligations.
Key responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage and coordinate multiple projects from commencement to client handover;
- Scope project management plan within defined timeframes;
- Forecast project costs to identify required resource and develop budget controls;
- Identify procurement management structure;
- Structure internal and external communication procedures;
- Identify, analyse and mitigate potential risks through defined risk assessment strategies and appropriate health and safety procedures;
- Monitor subcontractor performance;
- Maintain contact and progress performance of site staff to drive quality and timelines.
Achieved by:
- Taking responsibility for developing the project strategies and programme of work;
- Preparing tender and contract documentation, cost analysis and estimations;
- Procurement of trade packages, materials and labour relevant to schedule and plan;
- Ensuring site preparation and readiness prior to construction work, mitigating potential problems;
- Apply effective operating systems relevant to design, controls and costs; ensure contract and construction program is adhered to throughout the build process;
- Analyse and understand project profitability, revenue, margins and costs;
- Manage project budgets, track and report on project costs, team input/hours and expense;
- Maintaining open lines of communication throughout the project life cycle with client, stakeholders and project teams, ensuring client ‘satisfaction’ at each work stage.
Required Skills / Abilities
- A professional telephone manner and ability to articulate in a clear professional manner;
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all business related matters;
- Time Management, methodical and priority focused;
- Flexible and reliable with a results driven approach;
The selected candidate will have an extensive knowledge and experience of the commercial interiors industry. An excellent command of the English language together with a high standard of oral and written communication skills, and a flexible approach to work demands is a prerequisite of the role together with an enthusiastic, collaborative and professional work ethic.
Hours: 9am-5.30pm
