Our buyers are responsible for leading and controlling the procurement activity within their product areas to ensure that volume and profit targets are met within customer requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior / Trainee Buyer to progress their career to the next level within a dynamic and fast paced organisation.

Responsibilities to include:
• End to end supplier management, taking responsibility for your grower base
• Negotiating and agreeing prices with growers and suppliers
• Verifying stock levels and availability to plan and forecast volumes required
• Reconciling stock movement, discrepancies, lost boxes and outstanding stock
• Monitoring production efficiencies and performance, liaising with production team and product manager to agree appropriate action when needed
• Owning procurement excellence element of seasonal reviews, maintaining communication to all stakeholders
• Working towards the structured procurement strategy to ensure profitability, quality and service level commitments are exceeded
• Providing costing information to support the profit forecasting system to deliver margins against budgets
• Organising, negotiating, problem solving and communicating with Hauliers and Fresca Inbound Logistics Team from source to destination to ensure correct quality levels on arrival, accurate delivery times, to maintain planned cost prices and continuity of supply chain and corporate service level agreements

Key skills required:
• Experience in a procurement/buyer role, preferably within fresh produce industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to plan strategically with excellent negotiation skills
• Able to carry out detailed analysis and present recommendations
• Driven individual looking to innovate, effect and respond to change
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, Power Point, MS Word
• Fluent Spanish both verbal and written is highly desirable
• Working knowledge of SAP is beneficial
• Willingness to travel is essential as extensive travel is a large part of this role

Your hours of work would be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and as previously mentioned, extensive travel is a large part of this role so flexibility is key.
