The Big Cat Sanctuary is looking for an enthusiastic Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to join their team.

The successful candidate will co-ordinate and develop BCS social media and online activity (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and the BCS website) to gain followers and increase customer engagement. A key part of your role will be informing our followers about new and ongoing stories, tracking trending subjects, helping develop and plan our social media posts and helping to produce and edit short video clips and photographs for posting on our channels. You will also be responsible for producing regular newsletters, co-ordinating our vital membership programme and using analytical and data skills to focus our efforts and monitor results.

You will attend and help cover BCS events throughout the year (including our Members Days and Open Weekend) plus other events and functions, so flexibility in hours of work is essential. However, outside of special events the general working pattern will be Monday to Friday 09.30-15.00.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Informing customers of new stories, tracking trending subjects and planning our social media posts.
Finding and developing BCS stories and putting them in front of as large an audience as possible.
Producing and editing short video clips and photographs for posting on social media.
Writing, editing and proofreading marketing materials including regular newsletters
Capturing, Manipulating, Utilising and Analysing Marketing data.

Essential Skills & Requirements

A passion for the BCS vision & mission (the conservation and breeding of endangered big cats and delivery of an education programme that promotes the importance of bio-diversity and the role of the top predators).
Experience of editing software (e.g. Adobe).
Familiarity with content management systems.
Understanding of SEO and how people use search engines and social media.
Strong writer and editor.
Experience of database and data analysis software.
