Assistant Accountant job based Medway £11-£13ph immediate start. ^ month initial maternity contract
Your new company
You will be working for this UK based Medium sized organisation who are part of a wider group. This Assistant Accountant job is a maternity contract for the duration of 6 months initially. You will work 8:30am to 5pm with an hour for lunch. You will be a key member of a four-person finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director, with responsibility for maintenance of ledgers, cash book and daily/monthly accounting routines.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the companies Sales Ledger which includes raising sales invoices, allocation of cash, credit checks, set up new customers, manage debtors, chase payments and manage retention's/rebate schedules. You will be responsible for the purchase ledger which includes matching invoices to PO's, input purchase ledger invoices, manage payment runs, reconcile supplier statements and manage creditors. You will also assist the running of the month end process including monthly reports - sales analysis, customer sales. You will look after Intercompany verifications, cashbook reconciliations and purchase ledger accruals.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need previous and upto date date experience in an all round accounts position which includes purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and month end reporting. You will be available to start at short notice ideally within 1 week and able to commit to the full 6 month assignment. You will need access to your own transport due to office location.
What you'll get in return
You will receive an hourly rate in the region of £11 - £13 per hour inclusive of holiday pay and receive payment on a weekly basis.
