Highly successful company of insurance brokers is looking to enhance the finance team with the appointment of a Management Accountant. You will be responsible for delivery of the company’s strategic and operational objectives

Ideally a part, or nearly qualified CIMA Management Accountant who can demonstrate strong influencing and financial modelling skills and be able to work collaboratively with individual business units. Previous experience of working within the insurance industry is essential.

The Management Accountant is the primary finance interface with the business and will support the leadership team to implement strategies & business plans. The role is fundamental to promoting a better understanding of financial issues within designated business units.

Your key responsibilities will be:
• To ensure each business unit has a current financial business plan and to review this on an ongoing basis.
• To meet with the operational teams to understand their business and provide insight and analysis.
• To provide commercial support and analysis for projects.
• To drive improved business performance by supporting and influencing operational decisions and identifying cost efficiencies.
• To be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of monthly information to the business unit and central finance.

In addition to your accounting qualifications and insurance sector experience, you will need to have a ‘can do’ attitude to the delivery of tasks and projects; strong Excel reporting skills and the ability to explain financial information to a non-financial audience. Much of this role is about communication and you should enjoy the process of building and nurturing business relationships.

Much of a Management Accountant role like this is of a routine nature, but there is real scope for you to introduce improved methods of working, highlight areas for change and have a high degree of influence over future business development and growth.
