As one of the UK’s largest distributors of giftware, clocks and leather goods based in Larkfield. Incorporating the London Clock, Stackers and Dulwich design brand names, LC Designs is currently looking to recruit a Quality Control Executive working full time on a intial 12 month contract.
Candidates for this role should have previous experience of working within a quality control department and possess good technical and ethical knowledge. It is also desirable for the candidate to be accredited with a leading auditing body.
As the Quality Control Executive, you will be responsible for:
• Ensuring that all existing products and new developments meet legislation and safety standards.
• Building strong supplier relationships and working with factories in China and India to ensure continuous product improvement and the timely resolution of manufacturing issues.
• Building strong relationships with customer technical teams and ensuring all products meet customer specific requirements in terms of quality, testing and labelling.
• Specifying packaging and communicating with factories to evaluate packaging performance.
• To initiate, arrange, manage, review and follow up all required audits including ethical, technical and customer specific.
• To be responsible for the annual review and update of documentation relating to audits.
• Classification of all customer cases leading to identifying QC / production issues.
• Closely monitoring any quality problems which occur with existing products ensuring a quick resolution to any issues.
• Implementing change and solving QC problems.
• Overall accountability for meeting return rate targets and monitoring supplier performance relating to quality.
• Ensuring that all products are optimised in terms of construction, fittings, production methods, finish, raw material quality, packaging, working to agreed standards of quality.
• Communicating with manufacturers regarding assembly instructions & labelling.
• Producing full technical documentation and product specifications to support sign off of production.
• Work with product team contributing to discussions surrounding problem solving.
• Produce product information/specification files required to update website details.
• Be the point of contact able to provide support and insight to customer service team related to customer product issues.
• Responsible for ensuring that all factories reach ethical standards and maintain through regular audits.
• Constant monitoring of quality at product/supplier and category level.
• Constant communication with product team regarding current QC status.
Other desired skills and attributes include:
• Extreme attention to detail and follow up.
• At least three years' experience in a quality control role.
• You will demonstrate a strong understanding of a broad range of materials and finishes.
• A solid understanding of testing and legislative requirements.
• Familiar with regulations such as RoHS, REACH, WEEE, EMC and EUTR.
• You will have experience of travelling and working with Far East suppliers.
• You will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi task.
• You will have a structured, methodical way of working focused on recording and follow up.
• Strong communication skills and ability to discuss solutions in a pragmatic way.
• Familiar with SEDEX, SMETA, BSCI and able to adapt quickly to customer specific audits.
