Job Title: Logistics/Operations Manager
Location: Swanley
Salary: £30,000 per annum (negotiable DOE)

I?m looking to combat your New Year blues by introducing you to my client in the Swanley area, who are offering a fantastic basic salary, long-term career potential and a high responsibility role.
As an experienced Logistics/Operations Manager, you will be take complete ownership of warehouse and driving staff to ensure the smooth running of logistical operations for my well known client within the engineering and manufacturing industry. Having an annual turnover of around £350 million per annum, this organisation is looking for a professional and experienced Manager who is able to drive change in the company, improving current customer service processes with an end-game of increasing company turnover through dedication and passion for the job.
As my successful candidate, you will have a proven track-record of trouble-shooting within a similar sector and be able to demonstrate clear examples of how and where you have improved company operations. You will have experience in the direct management of warehouse staff and HGV Drivers and be able to provide long-term goals and strategies on how you implement change into an organisation including logistical operations and long-term service agreements.

The Role:
* Ensuring that customer orders are always picked, processed and delivered on time and in good condition
* Developing and motivating a competent warehouse and administrative team
* Controlling or reducing warehouse and transport distribution costs
* Ensuring that safe working practices are maintained at all times and working to the Company Health and Safety policy
* Planning and organising the regular maintenance of all plant, vehicles and machinery to ensure it is operating safely and to maximum efficiency
* Ensuring that all quality standards are monitored and maintained
* Increasing productivity and efficiency throughout all warehouse and administrative systems and procedures.
* Maximising customer liaison processes to ensure outstanding customer service
Requirements:
* Experience of managing and motivating staff in a busy warehouse distribution environment
* Ability to maintain discipline and handle daily performance issues in a direct but reasonable manner
* Experience of introducing and driving change to achieve productivity and efficiency gains
* Ability to structure and implement on the job training particularly for new recruits
* Knowledge of statutory Health and Safety procedures and transport laws and regulations.
