Continued success has led to the creation of an exciting opportunity for an experienced 3D CAD Technician with a knowledge of Tekla, to join a well-established market leader specialising in the design, manufacture and installation a wide range of canopies, outdoor play shade, entrance shelters, walkway canopies, and glass canopies for schools, offices, hospitals, housing, airports and the wider construction markets.

You will play an important role, working as part of a close-knit team providing layout, general arrangement, and detail fabrication drawing, using CAD software and Tekla 3D/2D software tools, to design structural steel canopies clad in a range of materials, including: polycarbonate, tensile PVC fabric, and sheet metal in barrel vault / curved profiles or pitched, fabricated using metal (steel, stainless, aluminium).

Liaising with Contracts Manager, Structural Engineers, Architects and Clients to finalise detailing of both standard and bespoke designs for projects ranging in value from £3K to £100K, for a wide variety of applications/customers, such as covered outdoor play areas for schools, hospital entrance / drop-off canopies, architectural canopies, loading bay areas, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience
An experienced CAD Technician / Draughtsman with a good knowledge of Tekla or equivalent 3D structural steelwork detailing software tools (e.g. StruCad etc), you should have a solid background in the design and detailing of structural steelwork to current BS / Eurocode standards, strong PC skills, including Tekla (or equivalent), Excel and Word, be able to communicate effectively with clients, and have the ability to work as part of team.
