The Council is seeking to recruit an experienced Groundsman/Gardener to work in a public facing role, assisting the Senior Groundsman / Gardener in maintaining the highest possible standards throughout the Town Council’s parks, buildings, open spaces and sporting facilities.
You will have experience of horticultural, sports ground and arboriculture operations including the use and maintenance of appropriate equipment. Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Horticulture. PA1/PA6 certificates in chemical spraying would be an advantage as would First Aid at Work.
As well as holding a full clean UK driving licence you will also be able to demonstrate good communication and team skills, have experience of dealing with the public, be well organised, numerate, literate with the ability to prioritise your workload.
Flexibility is essential as although the post is a full time position of 37 hours per week there is a requirement to cover holidays and sickness and could include occasional weekend/evening work.
