Tudor Jones & Co are an expanding leathergoods manufacturer based in Broadstairs providing high quality, traditional, handmade, bespoke leather merchandise to the restaurant and hotel industry.

With increasing sales demands we require an additional full or part-time leather worker / factory operative to join our busy team.

You will be working in a demanding factory environment and will be expected to be fully hands on, to assist in building high quality, standard & bespoke leather folders, menus, key fobs, office accessories etc as required. All our products are manufactured right first time, to client’s exact specifications. As part of the team you will be required to maintain pace, productivity and increase overall efficiency to meet our demanding production schedule, by working with and alongside team members. Full training will be provided.

The ideal candidate should have the correct skill-set, as listed below, and have previously worked in this environment.

The key requirements of the candidate are:
• Physically fit and healthy and used to manual work
• Good time keeping and attendance
• Ability to work independently, and effectively within a small production team
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Good attitude to and understanding of Health & Safety
• Basic mechanical skills
• Must be flexible & conscientious

Main Duties will include:
• Cut leather and materials to gain maximum output
• Adhesive work, utilising various types of compounds
• Using various forms of cutting tools safely and effectively
• Prepare outers and inners for folders / menus / key tags etc
• Create pockets, corners, detailing, windows in plastic and leather
• Block, skive, turn, press, glue materials
• Assemble items: stitch, add rivets, corners, split rings, tassels
• Complete / polish and pack ready for despatch

Previous knowledge and ability to use any of the following machines would be an advantage:
• Power tools such as Drills
• Industrial Sewing Machine
• Folding / Turning Machine
• Roller Press
• Skiving / Paring Machine
• Swing arm clicker press
• Riveting Machine
• Blocking Machine
• Industrial Gluing Machine
• Bench Linisher / Sanding Machine
• Circular saw / basic woodworking
