A prolific and well established software house based in Dartford is searching for a highly technical systems administrator who has a strong understanding of Windows/ Linux servers.

The Client is searing for an individual to adopt a DeVops mentality and within time grow the infrastructure department.

This position is responsible for the availability of customer facing mission critical business systems and supporting infrastructure. This role will also incorporate leading a small team.

Responsible for advanced administration, monitoring and supporting of server hardware platforms, operating systems, and their related products and technologies in a leadership position.

Researches and establishes standards for system uptime and availability. Recommends, documents, and follows established standards for system uptime and availability. Recommends technologies to improve performance of existing infrastructure. This position is also responsible for assisting in directing day to day infrastructure repair, and maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Troubleshoots and resolves infrastructure issues
* Develops and maintains documentation on infrastructure, software, systems, and disaster recovery methodology
* Assists in ensuring that network infrastructure is up and running
* Specifies and implement hardware and software
* Builds, maintains, and repairs datacenter and network infrastructure
* Trains other TSM's and junior members on using networking hardware and software as needed
* Ensures company backups are run on a regular basis and restores files as needed
* Creates and distributes reports as needed
* As assigned, administers and supports company telecommunications hardware and software and related services
* Acts as a leader, mentor and advisor for other IS team members
* Attends education and training sessions as approved and/or required
* Provides LAN troubleshooting such as server and connectivity problems along with software performance problems
* Informs senior management regarding problems and resolutions associated with infrastructure and servers
* Works with international teams to ensure consistency and uptime of systems internationally
* Implements system monitors for aspects of the environment to ensure uptime
* Responds to monitors to resolve issues and problems with infrastructure and servers
* Directs special projects and performs other duties as required

In addition to the job description, here are some more preferred skills:

* Setup and maintain Application Servers: Windows and Linux server experience. Java applications that run inside Tomcat.
* Setup and maintain SQL database servers. Windows and Microsoft SQL Server skills.
* Experience running servers in a VMWare environment.
* Experience running servers in AWS or other cloud provider environment.
* Ability to work with developers as they create the applications and troubleshoot existing applications.
* Application servers connect through load balance and traffic manager server, Brocade Stingray/Virtual traffic manager experience.
* 24/7 Monitoring of production applications such as AppDynamics and SolarWinds.
* Familiar with DevOps culture and automation tools. Continuous Integration, build, source code repository and other development software tools.
