Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF) is a not-for-profit, Christian organisation whose mission is to fly light aircraft in some of the world’s poorest communities. Every four minutes a MAF aircraft is taking off or landing somewhere in the world to assist missions, churches, aid and development agencies and other national groups to share the love of God.

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to take the lead for the Finance Team in our Ashford Office. The successful applicant must have previous experience in managing a finance team. Experience of budgeting and production of management and financial accounts is essential.

Further responsibilities will include providing financial management and reporting. This will involve consolidation of monthly management accounts including forecasting and overseeing the annual budgeting process. In addition, the job holder will assist with legal and tax issues, draft and complete legal documents and oversee VAT and insurances for offices.

The successful applicant will need to be degree qualified, hold a professional accounting qualification and be a member of a recognised Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent. They must also possess excellent communication skills and be service orientated.

International travel of up to 8 weeks per year is required for this role.

There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a committed Christian. The post holder will be expected to lead prayer and biblical reflection, and to be a role model for the organisation in accordance with our Christian beliefs and standards in the workplace.
