My Client, a company with an enviable position in their market sector, is looking to recruit quality people in various areas, in particular a Maintenance / Engineering Manager. As Maintenance / Engineering Manager you will deploy the maintenance strategy as defined by the Senior Maintenance Manager and engineering functions within the area to ensure that optimum operation requirements are met. You will also lead capital projects, manage engineering budgets and overhead costs, and provide day-to-day engineering support.

The Role: Maintenance / Engineering Manager

Improve efficiency and lead on Capital Projects

Provide day to day engineering support.

Manage engineering budgets

Ensure there is a robust machine risk assessment review programme for all assets

Be a process 'champion' in specific lean tools and support the wider factory in related projects.

Act as the leader in projects or Lean events to support a culture of continuous improvement and wider participation.

Ensure all equipment is maintained on a scheduled basis and new equipment/tooling guarantees all products produced meet the required quality specification.

Oversee engineering stores inventory

Ownership of all Lean processes including OEE, TAL, visual management, 5S, SMED techniques, root cause analysis, autonomous maintenance, value stream mapping, FMEA etc.

Improve departmental performance by training, facilitating, coaching and mentoring staff members in continuous improvement activities.

Lead engineering & process support for the continuous improvement of product quality.



Skills / Experience/ Qualifications: Maintenance / Engineering Manager

Educated to Degree Level or equivalent in a recognised engineering qualification

Previous experience within an FMCG production environment.

Proven ability to lead teams

Knowing and understanding development trends in the Engineering field

Working knowledge of TQM methodology and process management.

Working knowledge and understanding of production processes, filling and finishing techniques and industrialisation processes.

Proven skills and knowledge in Lean tools (visual management, 5S, SMED techniques, standard work, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, FMEA).

Good understanding of quality processes and measurements used.

Understanding of ISO relating to cGMP standards.

Possess Budget management knowledge

Train the trainer
