This new and impactful role will report into the Director of Talent, Europe and will have an increasingly European focus as the company continues to leverage its presence across Europe and as part of the larger Sysco organisation. The key element of the role is to lead on the design, structure and implementation of all leadership development and training for our senior managers within Brakes UK and, working with the Director of Talent - Europe and the Business HRBP`s in each business, to ensure best practice and alignment across all functions in the Brakes and Sysco companies in Europe. In addition, this role will lead on all open programmes of learning and development for Brakes and have responsibility for managing the new LMS.
Key responsibilities:

- To lead on the design, structure and implementation of all leadership and open programmes i.e. personal effectiveness
- To have responsibility for implementing the LMS in Brakes and for coordinating the plan to implement across Europe.
- To manage the ongoing design/sign off of the LMS content in Brakes UK and ensuring consistency of e learning approach and sharing of best practice across the group
- To coordinate Learning & Development training across the different functions within the organisation to ensure consistency of approach and alignment with company values and competencies
- To deliver training and development via self, internal trainers or external providers
- To lead on the C grade top talent programme
- To manage the yearly review process
- Coordinating talent reviews and succession planning of managers up to B grades
- To support the Talent Director in other Talent priorities
- Coaching of individuals within the organisation

Abilities, skills and experience:

- 3-5 years experience in a Learning and Development role with a proven track record of designing and delivering effective learning interventions
- Knowledge of a range of behavioural, organisational change, organisational effectiveness, and development models
- Knowledge of needs assessment, design, delivery, cost benefit analysis, career development, coaching and mentoring
- Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Certifications in various relevant programmes and assessment instruments
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience with large company wide implementation
- Programme facilitation to various size audiences
- Ability to work closely with senior management teams and to develop solutions for business needs
- Capacity to serve as an advisor and technical expert regarding organisational development
- Experience of evaluation methodologies, analytics and reporting dashboards and demonstrable experience of driving change as a result
- Leadership development experience

- Has impeccable integrity and ethics. Builds trust and rapport quickly and completely.
- Knows how to actively engage the business.
- Is a proven team builder and leader.
- Results-oriented and knows how to execute but with a fluid and flexible work style.
- Knows how to give constructive feedback and suggestions to people at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to influence and impact from the most senior levels of the organisation to lower levels of the organisation.

Brakes is a fully national company and so whilst the role will be home based, regular UK travel will be required with some overnight stays. In addition there may be some limited travel to Europe (France, Sweden, Ireland)
