A well- established Motor Insurance firm are currently seeking a Motor Engineer to operate in-house from their Sevenoaks office.

Role


 Responsibility for dealing with Motor Engineering referrals from the Motor Claims team.
 Responsibility for the Desk Vet and on occasions In the Field inspection of damaged
vehicles as requested.
 Production of reports and estimates and authorisation and direction of repairs, together
with valuation of vehicles
 Arranging disposal of salvage in accordance with the ABI guidelines.
 To develop and maintain effective relationships with repairers and intermediaries thus
ensuring highest levels of customer satisfaction at the lowest fair repair cost
 To provide an inspection service to external clients on a fee-paying basis
 To maintain up to date and accurate records and provide regular returns in established
format.
 Quality and timeliness of inspections, valuations, audits and invoice review.
 Quality of claims leakage reduction.
 Monitor repair work and activities of repairers so to ensure that the average repair cost falls within the motor engineer's territory minimum number of substandard repair referrals.



Candidate Profile

 VDA ATA Accreditation
 Member of Engineering Institutes
 Thorough Knowledge of Computerised Estimation Systems (Audatex and Glassmatix)
 Thorough Knowledge Of Thatcham Escribe
 Thorough knowledge of the details of the methods of motor vehicle accident repair.
 Experience of estimating and negotiation.
 Professional engineering judgement, thereby stemming claims leakage.
 Detailed knowledge of the method of repair of motor vehicles.


Salary on offer is dependent on experience and will be offered accordingly. £28,000pa - £32,000pa.

Benefits of the role include: Pension, Holiday (20 days minimum), 10% bonus (DOE and applicable after completion of probation), Option to buy or sell up to 3 days holiday.

The role of the Motor Engineer will operate Monday - Friday and must allow some flexibility on time.
