Senior Support Worker Required for Children's Residential Setting in and around Seaford
Your new company
Hays Social Care have specialised in support work for a number of years and are expanding operations in East and West Sussex. Hays Social Care works closely with a number local authorities, community projects, residential care homes, home care operations and child care centres to provide them with all of their staffing needs. Hays have become a well-respected market leader in many areas through a constant focus on providing outstanding customer service to both our clients and our workers. With Hays Social Care you will be assigned your own consultant who specialises in the area. They will be there to assist you with any queries you may have and will be dedicated to finding you employment within companies you wish to work for.
Your new role
In your support work job you will enjoy working with and helping children, from a wide variety of backgrounds including disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health problems, and a range of other special requirements. You provide support to individuals both emotionally and practically, so they can live a happy, comfortable, and independent life.
As a senior support worker you will be guided by higher management, but you will be expected to 'lead' shifts independently. Key duties can include record keeping in accordance with legislation and regulations, administration and recording of medication and leading on specialist support techniques. The Senior Support worker will also be required to provide guidance and leadership to less experienced members of the team.
What you'll need to succeed
In addition to a caring, patient and helpful nature you will you will need extensive experience in a social care management/team leading role, and/or relevant qualifications for the role e.g. NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care. You'll also be flexible with working hours and happy to work a variety of shifts in order to meet service user's requirements.
