LGV Cat C Class 2 – Furniture Delivery – Erith

We are a specialist supplier of temporary and permanent labour to the industrial and driving sectors.

We are currently seeking 4x LGV Cat C Class 2 Drivers to fill positions in Erith.

The successful candidate will possess a current and valid Class 2 Licence and must have Class 2 driving experience.
On the job you will be tasked with the delivery of premium furniture products to residential customers within the south east area. This for the most part will not include any areas in London due to having a depot specifically to service that area.

You will be designated as part of a 2 man team delivering these products into the customers’ home to the room of choice. Because of this some level of physical fitness will be required. There will be no assembly to be done however.

Communicating with customers and dealing with orders will also mean you will need a good level of customer service. This employer is looking to provide a “white glove” service to its customers. With this contract being with one the largest high street brands it is important that this can be delivered.

When you commence work you will be going out with one of the company’s full time drivers and be working as a drivers mate whilst learning the products and how the company operates. You will however still be paid as a class 2 driver throughout this introductory period.

Hours of Work

Shift patterns will follow the following rota:
• 3 days on, 2 days off
• 3days on, 2 days off
• 4 days on, 1 day off
• 4 days on, 1 day off

5 - 7.30am starts with a scheduled finish around 3-5pm

Some over time may be required.

Length of Assignment

These positions will be starting on a temporary basis with the intention to take on the right candidates full time after a successful trial period with the company. Responsibilities of the LGV Class 2 Driver

• Operate a Cat C Class 2 vehicle to local areas, making deliveries, product pick up, etc.
• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tyre pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
• Adhering to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives precisely Interact with dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all task are carried out in a timely and professional manner and prepare to return home.
• Deliver a high level of customer service to all customers.
• Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

Requirements of the LGV Class 2 Driver

• LGV Cat C Class 2 Driving Licence
• Valid CPC
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Verifiable references

Rates of Pay

The starting salary for this position is up to £11 per hour*, £12.25 per hour to those on a limited company. Pay rates increase on weekend overtime rates to:

Saturdays at £12.25 PAYE* / £13.50 LTD
Sundays at £13.00 PAYE* / £14.25 LTD

*+ Holiday pay based on weekly accrual.
