We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Community Safety team as a Safeguarding Officer. This is a part time, job share position, working 18.5 hours per week. Working days would be Monday, Thursday and Friday.
POST TITLE: Safeguarding Officer (Part time 18.5 hrs per week)
SECTION: Economy and Community Services
SALARY: Grade 6 £27,149 - £30,540 (Pro-Rata)
Working in a compact and friendly team, your main role will be to support the Council’s response to Safeguarding. You will be responsible for dealing with concerns raised about the protection of children, young people and adults at risk appropriately, through supporting front-line staff and liaising with partner agencies. You will also be responsible for the submission of performance reports relating to the service area and provision of support to other Council officers in monitoring contracts to ensure suitable safeguarding compliance.
In order to fill the requirements of the post, you must have sound knowledge and understanding of the Safeguarding agenda from a children and adult prospective, in terms of legislation and strategic drivers. You will be able to work with and influence stakeholders and partners from a wide variety of backgrounds and have previous experience of working in multi-agency and partnership environment to achieve results. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential, as is the ability to use your initiative and seek out opportunities.
A DBS Check is required for this post.
