As Trainee Management Accountant you will be responsible for monitoring business costs for budget allocation and coding, and will be proactive in recommending improvements and cost savings. You will be hands-on in assisting with the annual budget process and monthly forecasting and regularly contact budget holders to check and challenge spending. You will ensure the timely delivery of all reports which make up the monthly management accounts pack and the statutory accounts. There will also be aspects on analytical work on a regular and ad hoc basis.

As a Trainee Management Accountant, you will acknowledge that there will be peaks and troughs in the workload and this will need to be managed to ensure delivery of team objectives. As well as being a technical role, it is highly important that you are a confident communicator as there will be regular contact with budget holders from many departments.

This Trainee Management Accountant job role will develop in line with your growing knowledge, experience and level of professional qualification.

Ideally, you should have at least completed AAT level 3 or 4, and be actively studying towards your CIMA or ACCA qualification. A training support package will be provided to assist with your studies. Your qualifications should be matched by relevant and recognisable work experience within a similar job role. Experience of, and competency in computerised accounting systems and Advanced Excel and Word knowledge is required.
