Embedded C++ Software Engineer

Our client, based in Rochester, is looking for an experienced Embedded C++ Software Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced and busy development.

You should be as a minimum degree qualified or equivalent in electronics or a relevant subject, with a good general education. Also you should be familiar with a variety of development tools, with the ability to code on at least two different 32-bit microcontroller families, apply Linux on embedded systems, code in assembler and C/C++ as a minimum.
Ideally you will have 3 years' + experience in Software Development.
Must have:
· Experience developing and supporting real-time embedded systems in a Linux environment
· Excellent knowledge of C, C++ language programming on Embedded Linux system
· Experience developing embedded Linux systems using community tools
· Familiarity with the Linux kernel. Linux device driver or core kernel development
· Some understanding hardware/embedded system designs
· Understanding of distributed systems and data structures, both in design and implementation
· Linux Inter-Process Communications (shared memory, semaphore, FIFO)
· Software Configuration Management with SVN
Nice to have
· Experience with user interface development toolkits like Qt, GTK within an embedded platform
· Experience with more specific ARM Core processors
· Experience in device drivers, networking stacks
· ISO9001 Quality Practices
