Volunteering and Engagement Officer

Salary: £18-£20,000 depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Holiday: 25 days (pro rata)
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 12/01/2018
Interview date: 16/01/2018

Purpose of job

This is a varied and hands on role, supporting a wide range of people to take part in activities, forums and volunteering. You will use your people skills, engaging personality and positive approach to encourage people from a wide range of backgrounds including ex-offenders, people with mental and physical health conditions, learning disabilities, people from other countries and lone parents to engage. You will be facilitating groups, with a particular focus on art and craft, supporting people to volunteer in the community, organising social activities and forums and promoting our work to partners.
There is a strong focus on supporting people to gain skills, improve wellbeing and progress to other opportunities or employment. You’ll need some experience of delivering support to disadvantaged people, including the ability to work within professional boundaries, adhere to policies and procedures, and collect data.
