EXPERIENCED HEAD COOK REQUIRED to run the kitchen at our 30 bed dementia Care Home in Whitstable.
36 hours per week including alternate weekends.
Must hold level 3 food hygiene certificate and a level 2 catering qualification is desirable.
Must have previous experience of working within a busy kitchen environment.
Summary of duties:
To prepare, cook and serve quality home cooked meals to the highest standard.
Ensure that balanced meals are given and special dietary needs are met.
Ensure the kitchen is run efficiently, and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene of a five star rated kitchen are maintained.
Support and supervise work colleagues.
Check food stocks and place orders with designated suppliers.
Be aware of all food hygiene regulations and keep abreast of legislative changes as they occur.
Ensure all documentation is kept up to date according to current legislation.
To care for all kitchen equipment and ensure that it is operated correctly and safely and cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
