Senior HR Governance Manager, £80,000 - £85,000, London
The Senior Manager, People Governance will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of People Governance across the People Team.
Duties:
* Work with the Reward & People Operations team to monitor governance and controls, agreeing corrective actions with the teams where identified including following a reported incident
* Work across the team to ensure that there is regular accurate reporting of agreed controls, and to identify opportunities to improve the service and systems and work with the team to implement them.
* Work with the team to share best practice and learnings and to identify opportunities to make processes lean and effective, championing improvements in governance and service across the team
* Ensure that the business continuity plan within the Reward & People Operations team is robust and can be operationalised immediately if required by the Company BCP team
* Ensure that effective controls are in place, documented and regularly tracked and audited to ensure compliance
* Ensure that People Operations & Reward governance is aligned to the relevant frameworks (eg FCF), and risk mitigation in line with the company's risk appetite are embedded into team working practices
* Participate in ad hoc change projects within the People Team and with the wider business that are relevant to People to ensure that changes, governance and improvements are embedded in working practices across the team
* Programme manage cross team change initiatives across the People team
* Work with other business areas to determine where their policies and initiatives impact People Governance and work with the team to implement effective process and system changes, and governance to support compliance with these policies and initiatives
* Work with the relevant compliance and audit committees to ensure that all reporting is completed, and that governance failures are reported to the relevant committee/team within the appropriate timescale
* Work with Audit teams on requests for information and proactively influence/inform observations relating to People governance issues
* Put in place appropriate processes and controls to embed and enhance data governance across the People Team, and oversee quality of People data ensuring that all data is stored in a compliant manner and data retention schedules are adhered to
* Lead the implementation of the Data Quality Management framework and GDPR regulatory changes across the People Team
* Work with the Senior Manager, Regulatory Liaison on the implementation of process and governance changes arising from the Senior Manager Regime into People operational working practices
Experience required;
Essential:
* Experience in a large matrix organisation preferably within Financial Services with significant knowledge of HR processes and risk/compliance frameworks
* Strong Project Management skills and knowledge of Agile or another project methodology, ideally with specific experience in HR change and governance projects
* Proven analytical expertise with the ability to analyse data and processes and develop audit reports, metrics and reports
* Able to problem solve, troubleshoot issues and escalate where necessary
Desirable:
* Able to use process re-design tools such as Lean or Six Sigma
* Knowledge of SOX controls
* Appreciation of regulatory environment and controls ideally in a Financial Services environment
Personal:
* Extremely proactive, organised and deliverable driven to exacting timelines
* Has a sense of accountability and able to exercise sound professional judgement
* Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders at various levels across the organisation.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands
* Demonstrates critical inquiry, attention to detail and the ability to articulate recommendations/conclusions verbally and in writing
