Shepherd Neame is looking for either an experienced Head Chef or a Sous Chef that is ready to take their skills to the next level and join our management team at the Millers Arms, Canterbury.

Part of the Shepherd Neame group of over sixty managed houses in the London and the South East, the Millers Arms is one of the top-rated pub hotels in Canterbury and it is a popular place to drink, dine and stay in the beautiful Cathedral city. With a recently introduced new menu now available, we currently offer a varied breakfast and lunch menu together with a great traditional British evening menu with a modern twist.

This role requires a strong, hands on chef that can take on the day to day running of the kitchen and our small team, further training and developing them to reach their career potential in the longer term.

This unique and exciting opportunity will see you working with us to uphold our new food offering, quality and standards whilst helping us to move our business forward to the next level.

What are we looking for?
• Proven experience at a Head Chef level.
• A strong Senior Sous / Sous Chef that is ready to take the next step.
• The ability to lead and develop a small kitchen team of four.
• A good understanding of GP, menu costing and wage budgeting.
• Former stock purchasing, ordering and management experience.
• The ability to implement and monitor health & safety and food safety procedures.
• The desire to assist with menu development in the long term.
• Passion and enthusiasm in the kitchen.
• You must be flexible in terms of the working hours required of you.
