Planner - Supply Chain - £28,000 to £30,000 - Orpington

My client a supplier in scientific equipment is seeking a Planner to join there expanding supply chain team; the role will be based in North Kent.

Key duties include:

* Planning for all assembly areas in conjunction with fellow planners
* Prepare accurate production plans using forecast and actual sales data
* Maintain standing data so that ERP/MRP system functionality can be more fully utilised
* Work closely with Sales Order Processing team in order to maximise customer service, in particular in providing 'Promise dates' promptly
* Monitor the causes of late and excess lead time deliveries and identify and implement corrective actions
* Monitor operational performance in conjunction with Supply Chain Manager and Operations Manager in order to facilitate continuous improvement
* Focus on process improvement with a view to minimising lead times without resulting in excess stock levels
* Support the buying function of the Supply Chain team
* To carry out any other duties that may be required from time to time



The successful candidate will possess:

* Threeyears' + working experience in a planning role: -

* In an automated MRP environment
* In an assembly business

* Effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
* A commercial attitude
* A strong customer service ethic
* A systematic approach to processes
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Competent in Microsoft Office
* Lean Manufacturing experience
* Good team player
