We are seeking a driven, hard-working individual/team player, enthusiastic, reliable and conscientious individual to take on this challenging and dynamic role leading the highways team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring great relationships with the 11 highways authorities, a solid support network in other utilities in our area and to ensure compliance of South East Water staff and suppliers with relevant highways legislation and practice.
Extensive knowledge of the New Roads & Streetworks Acts, Traffic Management Acts and associated codes of practice is essential. The candidate will also have established relationships with the Highway Authorities in the SEW operational area and have some experience in dealing with road construction/ repair contractors. The candidate must have a management and supervisory certificate in highway management and excellent communication skills at management level. The role requires experience in working within and managing budgets and programmes.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel to meet with relevant highways authorities and contractors across South East Waters operational area.
The candidate must be degree level or equivalent and must able to create and maintain Excel spreadsheet, create PowerPoint presentations and have a clean driving licence.
