Kent Police has unique responsibilities when it comes to policing the county. As well as dealing with crime and disorder, our geographic location means we have a part to play in national and international policing.

We're the main gateway to Europe through three ports, the Channel Tunnel and a number of airfields and airports. We also have one of the busiest road networks in the country providing access to London, Essex and the South East. We also share our borders with other forces including the Metropolitan Police, Sussex Police, Surrey Police and Essex Police.

Variable shifts

Starting salary £24,077 rising to £40,382 over 7 years (includes yearly South East allowance). In addition, you will receive 1% bonus payment until 31st August 2018.

The role of a Police Constable can be demanding but highly rewarding. Every day, presents a new challenge, you will deal with different situations ensuring public order is maintained, at all times. You will be responsible for protection of life and property as well as prevention and detection of crime. Working as part of a close team, you’ll help to serve and protect the diverse communities and businesses of Kent.
