As a Police Community Support Officer, you will work closely with communities and businesses to promote community safety. You will also identify and support vulnerable people through local engagement and working with partner agencies.
You will have certain powers to deal with antisocial behaviour, alcohol and licensing offences and traffic management. A key part of this role will involve working with the community on longer term projects to tackle local problems.
Working closely with regular officers, special constables and local authorities you will actively seek information and intelligence around criminal activity, disorderly or anti-social behaviour.
Opportunities to specialise
Countywide
Permanent, full time
Variable shifts (7am to midnight, Mon to Sun)
Salary £19,953 rising to £22,896 (after successfully completing a 12 month probationary period).
In addition, you will receive 1% bonus payment until 31st August 2018.
After successfully completing your probationary period, you may be given the opportunity to work in a specialist role which involves working with vulnerable adults with mental health conditions, working with children and young people or supporting victims of domestic abuse.
About you
As a Police Community Support Officer you will be passionate about helping communities. You will also be good at problem solving with the ability to develop an innovative approach to problems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important when supporting members of the public.
You will be fully supported during your first year of training to allow you to complete a learning portfolio.
