Who are we?
Moat is one of the top 30 housing associations in the UK with 20,000 homes spread across the south east in London, Kent, Essex and Sussex. We continue to develop new homes at an impressive rate too – last year we delivered 406 handovers and 515 starts onsite in the year. At the end of the year, we had over 1,400 homes in our pipeline and we remain on track to deliver 3,000 new homes in the period 2015 – 2020.
We recently celebrated our 50th year, marking the occasion with a 12 month fundraising challenge to raise £50,000. We smashed that target, raising over £70,000 in total which was split between five charities that are close to our hearts. Have a look on our website (moat.co.uk/5050) to see how we did it – it’s a great example of the amazing group of people we have here, who always go that extra mile and enjoy every minute of it!
We are a strong social landlord that cares. We know we’re good at it but we want to be even better. Our business and customers are changing and it’s time to ramp up the commercial focus, while not forgetting our social values.
The role:
As an Accountant you will prepare monthly performance reporting, budgets and annual financial statements for group, company and budget holders. Candidates should hold a full professional accounting qualification including sector relevant current financial reporting standards. This role requires someone who will challenge, is proficient in numerical analysis and interpretation and is able to work to tight deadlines. Additionally, communication skills are vital as you will be liaising with internal and external customers.
Employee benefits:
In return for your hard work, we will reward you with a competitive salary, pension scheme and the option of flexible working to give you a great work life balance. We offer a generous annual leave entitlement with the flexibility to buy and sell more.
We take pride in our people to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge they require to carry out their role and inspire them to learn more which is why we offer further education sponsorship and leadership programmes. We also cover the cost of up to two professional subscriptions per year.
