An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to work in a fast-growing company based in the UK with a newly-established US office. This is a highly technical field that offers the opportunity to work with some of the biggest and most cutting edge technology and aerospace companies in the world. Working closely with the Senior Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled and dedicated QA individuals within our, metrology, inspection and manufacturing departments. The successful candidate will need to be professional, passionate, have a hands on approach and proven people management skills.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Manage the day to day running of Quality Assurance and Metrology Departments.
Manage and maintain staff workloads.
Maintain and Manage a QMS in accordance to ISO 9001 & 14001. Including the Manual, procedures and internal audits.
Ensure that all ISO specifications and procedures are adhered to.
Ensure that SAP Business One is up to date and goods are correctly allocated to appropriate warehouses.
Control stock via stock control in SAP Business One database.
Ensure that all areas are clean and tidy at all times.
Manage and maintain reject system (including quarantine areas).
Ensure all optical components are measured and inspected correctly to specification.
Manage and maintain staff training and training records.
Liaise with sales and purchase departments regarding delivery dates and specification requirements.
Constantly update and liaise with senior management regarding training requirements and inter- departmental improvements.
Manage departmental work-flow and implement cost savings with time management efficiencies.
Liaise with Sales department and purchasing departments to aim for a 0% reject rate.
Key performance indicators:
Customer delivery dates met.
Supplier delivery dates met.
Team working and relationships.
Team efficiency and work-flow.
Up to date training plans.
Team Training and Development.
Supplier Rejects.
Customer Rejects.
Quality efficiency.
Customer satisfaction on quality.
Quality Suppliers and Supplier relationships.
Interdepartmental relationships.
Efficient Communication.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
At least 2 years Managerial experience within a relevant environment.
Ability to understand technical drawings/specifications.
Experience in running ISO9001 & ISO14001 Manuals, audits and procedures.
Relevant Quality Assurance Courses/Qualifications
At least 5 GCSE A-C Grades including maths and English
Preferably Graduate and/or A ‘Level Maths/Science
A genuine interest in Science and Technology
SAP Business One experience advantageous (training will be given)
Good Communication skills both verbally and written.
Experience of working to KPI’s
Experience of export procedures an advantage.
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
