Warehouse Operative (Temporary to Permanent)

Canterbury, Kent

£8.30 per hour



Our client, a large manufacturing firm based in central Canterbury, is currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to work on a temporary to permanent basis.

The successful applicant will be working as part of a team to load and unload goods with the minimum of damage, ensuring a good reliable service to customers.

Applicants must be able to work on a 24/7 shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off then 4 nights on 4 nights off, working 12 hours per shift including two 30 minute breaks.

The pay rate for this work will be £8.30 per hour, working on a temporary to permanent basis.



Key Responsibilities:

* Will work in accordance with all safety rules and safe working practices.
* Will unload lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all material is placed in the correct racks and a proper stock rotation is adhered to as set out in the Q.A. Manual. And will ensure that all products are correctly colour coded and labelled in accordance with the same manual.
* Will ensure that all delivery paperwork is completed efficiently and correctly in accordance with company procedures.
* Will be fully conversant with all aspects of Quality Assurance procedures which relate to the stock within the terms of BS5750.
* Will assist the Nightshift in the picking of materials and loading of lorries
* Will ensure that all working areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
* Will ensure that all stock locations are maintained at a sufficient level where stocks permit.
* Will ensure all racks within the area you are working in are clean, tidy and safe manner.
* Will ensure all walkways are in a clean, tidy and safe manner.



Person Specification

* Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment.
* Enthusiastic with a strong desire to learn and improve.
* Adaptable to change, the ability to listen and follow instruction also use their own initiative when needed.
* A strong team player.
