Project Quantity Surveyor

Location - Maidstone, Kent

Salary - £45,000 plus package



Client: An Award Winning, Family Run Contractor with a Company Annual Turn-over in the region of £20mil. Projects within the Industrial, Retail and Commercial Sector ranging from £1Mil to £7Mil.



Position: Seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor who will primarily be based from the Head Office in Maidstone, Kent reporting to a Commercial Manager. You will initially be responsible for a £3mil NEC Retail project. Your duties will include ensuring the financial position of the Construction Project is accurately reported and controlled effectively, as well as managing contractual relationships on this project.

* Manage commercial resources to maximise margin through the placement of subcontractor contracts.
* Control subcontract packages from enquiry through to final account.
* Package management and change control.
* Regularly review with the team contractual risks and implement strategies to mitigate risk.
* Assessment of variations and valuations of subcontractor accounts.
* Authorise placement of contracts, materials and plant orders.
* Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quantity), negotiation, invoicing and payment of the supply chain.

Requirements

* Ideally previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor
* Project experience in Commercial, Retail or Industrial
* HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering is desirable but not a necessity
* Highly Organised
* Good negotiation skills
