Job Title: Site Security Officer Reporting to: Site Security Manager
Location: Ash, Kent and Newbury, Berkshire
Hours of Work: 44 hours per week as detailed in published rota
Travel: Occasional travel required (to other business and customer sites)

Overall Job Purpose / Role Purpose
Provide first point of contact for all incidents or requests requiring a security input
The role is part of a team responsible for the logging, resolving or referring of all security incidents from point of initial contact through to resolution/escalation or closure within targeted service levels
Key Responsibilities
• Monitoring of all security systems and escalating any events
• Escorting visitors to the datacentre and site
• Internal patrols of site and bunker
• Logging staff and visitors on and off site
• Logging access to site and datacentre
• Raising, processing and closing all tickets for site visits through service management tool
• Raising and processing all client visits for business sites
• Responsible for monitoring CCTV for business sites and escalating any physical security incidents
• Working with other departments to gain greater knowledge of the company
• Keeping the front of house clean and tidy
• Issuing and logging keys
• Carry out tape rotations and remote hands tasking
• Answering phones and dealing with customer enquiries
• Acting as a mind map for emergency services if needed
• Carry out external patrols of the surrounding area. Build a positive image of the company through interaction with locals and neighbours
• Carry out exercises with emergency services when needed
• Be expected to learn / develop a greater understanding of the local area in order to carry out a swift response to any incidents
• Bring forward ideas to improve the security section/service desk to take us forward
• Build an understanding of the company in terms of what services we have to offer
• Be prepared to do overtime when needed
• Visit remote sites on occasion for familiarisation
Person Specification (Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required) Technical Competencies
• A basic knowledge of computers. How to send mail, use word documents
Behavioural & Personality Competencies
• Excellent telephone manner
• Smartly presented
• Must be able to work in a highly pressurised environment and be in possession of multi-tasking capabilities
• Able to use influencing skills and get results from people
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal
• Customer focused – ability to manage customer expectations
• Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
• Vigilant with attention to detail
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
Required Experience
• Previous experience of working in a security / HM Forces based role is an advantage although full training is available for the right candidate
• Basic knowledge of IT and the ability to use a computer
