We are recruiting for a leading Gillingham based business that Are looking to recruit a Production Buyer for a period on 3 months.

This role ideally suit someone at Consultant level that has expert knowledge of SAP, MRP and is able to hit the ground running.

As the Production buyer you will be responsible for the purchasing and expediting of established production parts, vendor monitoring and control and cost performance within standard costs and departmental budget.

* Identification of all demands produced by MRP, safety stock and order point systems. The translation of these demands into appropriate purchase orders.
* All aspects of purchase order generation, including approval verification, order entry, checking and postage.
* Control of filing and archiving of all purchase related documents. The provision of information from the above records.
* Progressing all orders through the system, including supplier, goods inward and stores.
* The reconciliation of invoice to purchase order variances with Accounts dept. and suppliers.
* All matters relating to Sales and Distribution demand, purchase orders and expediting.
* All miscellaneous purchase order actions.
* Produce reports as required to high and accurate standards.
* Highlighting any problem areas to the Purchasing & IT Manager.

You will be:

* Have excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Personable and able to build relationships quickly
