Job Information
We have an opportunity for an organised individual to work within our accounts department. Knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll & Sage 50 Accounts essential together with good numeracy and literacy skills. Hours 8.30 – 4.30 Monday to Friday.
We would like the successful candidate to bring to the job role:
• Strong payroll knowledge and some practical experience
• Book Keeping knowledge and some practical experience
• Strong interpersonal/customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast pace setting, willing to take on new projects and be flexible
• Proficiency with both Sage 50 Payroll & Sage 50 Accounts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills so you can perform analytics quickly and efficiently.
• Solid understanding of payroll legislation and awards (pay rates, superannuation, tax and benefits).
• Ability to interpret changes to legislation or awards and make any necessary changes to an organisation’s payroll production in order to remain compliant, complete company and statutory reporting, and conduct the necessary reconciliations.
What you will be doing:
• Administer Payroll - 75% of job role
• Collect Employee Information and collate and distribute Timesheets to calculate the total number hours worked in a given pay period
• Operation and Maintenance - Sage payroll software program
• Efficiently enter employee work hours, hourly wage levels or pay
• Record and maintain absents records – (SSP, SMP, SPP etc.)
• Calculate Payroll Gross to Net
• Communicate with Co-Workers
• All queries from HMRC and Contributions agency
• Associated reconciliations
• General Accounting Duties - 25% of job role
• Maintenance of purchase/sales ledge account
• Purchase / sales Ledger Invoicing and processing
• Reconciling customer/supplier account statements
Interviews
Interviews will typically run for 45 to 60 minutes. Candidates will be asked a range of situational, behavioural and general questions as well as some specific questions relative to the job role. All candidates will be asked the same set of interview questions.
Post Interview
All short-listed candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application for the position within two weeks of the interview date. The successful candidate will be asked to commence as soon as possible. A delayed start date may be agreed in special circumstances and notice periods will be given due consideration.
