Hours: Various part time hours, 36 weeks per year (Term time only)
Locations: Hadlow Campus
We are looking to recruit experienced Learning Support Practitioners (LSPs) to join the Additional Learning Support Team at our Hadlow campus. The LSPs will provide support to students with learning differences and other barriers studying Further Education courses across all levels but particularly in:
• Agriculture
• Animal Management
• Equine
• Foundation Learning

Timetables are likely to be over three or four days, and hours of work from 8.30am to 4.30pm although times can vary.

Roles and responsibilities may include providing personal care, one to one or group support in a classroom, practical or workshop setting, on work experience, and during unstructured time. Since Hadlow is a land based College you may expect to spend some time supporting students with outdoor activities and tasks related to animals and reptiles.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, hold a level 2 or 3 learning support qualification or be prepared to undertake the appropriate training. They must be able to provide proof of a minimum Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in maths and English. Proven experience of working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities is essential, particularly; autistic spectrum condition, ADHD, speech language and communication, dyslexia, physical needs, and behaviour, emotional and social difficulties.

In addition to the minimum requirements detailed above the post holder must possess a high standard of IT skills and be able to demonstrate that they can work flexibly as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Where applicable a prohibition check will be carried out.
