Fantastic opportunity to work for a niche magazine publisher in the Subscription Department.
You do not need to have a background in marketing or subscriptions, however some understanding would be beneficial, especially some capability in using the required software (especially Excel). Willingness to learn and develop is vital, and you must be a pro-active person, keen to solve problems without close management.
You may choose to work in our offices in Edenbridge, or from home; capability to work independently and to manage your own workload are essential. You must be able to attend team meetings in Edenbridge or London as required, you will also be required to join a weekly team conference call.
The role involves managing page adverts, inserts, email marketing, affiliates, social media marketing, direct mail and telemarketing. This activity requires you to create campaigns (with the support of a designer) and brief the offers to the Subscription Bureau. Some campaigns will require sourcing of gifts within a set budget. Campaigns will include regular promotions as well as seasonal activity and annual events. You may be required to assist at events which will require occasional weekend work. You must be comfortable assessing campaign success – this will require use of Excel; training will be provided where the candidate is not familiar with lifetime value analysis.
You will be required to resolve any escalated customer service queries, although customer service management is managed externally so this activity should be limited.
You will manage the loading of digital editions and online archive for select titles and work with IT support to resolve any issues that may arise.
You may occasionally work with the Subscription Bureau to amend customer communications or to communicate important information to subscribers (e.g. price changes).
Training will be provided during the first week (or two) of employment, and then ongoing support provided via email/phone with a view to you working independently and managing your own workload in due course.
Programs/software used include:
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Powerpoint
• Microsoft Outlook
• Online design tool: Canva.com – or Photoshop/InDesign
• Online – Email Service Provider (knowledge of HTML/CSS beneficial but not crucial)
• Online – Digital Edition software (Magazinecloner)
