Shepherd Neame is Britain’s oldest Brewery based in Faversham, Kent. As an independent family business we own and operate over 327 pubs and produce a wide range of ales and lagers, including Spitfire Ale, Whitstable Bay and Bishops Finger.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for the position of Fixed Asset Accountant within our Finance Team.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will report directly to our Chief Accountant.
The candidate will be tasked and be responsible for the following:
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Process asset requests on a daily basis.
• Process monthly settlements of completed tangible fixed asset projects.
• Assist with the recharging of project costs where required.
• Process asset disposals as required.
• Run depreciation monthly.
• Reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger monthly.
• Assist with production of monthly reporting.
• Assist with analysis of fixed asset additions and disposals for corporation tax purposes.
• Assist with fixed asset reporting for statutory accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of the capital expenditure and depreciation budgets.
• Provide holiday cover for central finance team, including the cashier.
• Ad hoc assistance for the Chief Accountant.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal candidate will:
• Have an AAT qualification, or similar.
• Be IT literate, but essentially proficient in Excel, knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
• Have at least one year’s experience working within a Finance Department.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
• Be able to work alone, but also as part of a team.
• Have the ability to work to tight deadlines balanced with a customer service focus.
