We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals with excellent verbal and written communication skills to join our busy Customer Services team.
Trainee Customer Service Advisor - Switchboard/Floorwalker:
12 month fixed term contract
1 x 37 hours per week
1 x 25 hours per week (Mon-Fri 5 hrs a day)
Please make clear on your application whether you are applying for the full time or part time position.
You will act as the first point of contact for customers contacting the council by telephone and face to face. The successful candidates will rotate between answering the council’s main switchboard number and signposting visitors to the Maidstone Link whilst providing digital support as needed in our self-serve area.
The successful candidate must be educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent, including English and Maths at Grade C or above) successful candidates will possess strong experience of working in a busy and challenging customer focussed environment with strong IT skills (including Microsoft products and online services). It is essential that you have a calm and patient manner to be able to provide customers with support and guidance with our online processes.
The Council considers these to be customer focused roles and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.
