Main purpose of job:
To provide a full and complete electrical service to the current IEE regulations and current legislation and work practices, including installation and maintenance of all RBLI Divisions, also any outlaying properties as directed.

Your Key Responsibilities:
• Take responsibility for new electrical installations to all RBLI properties including domestic dwellings, maintenance of existing electrical installations, street lighting, security lighting, and any re-wiring of circuitry.
• Install all electrical circuitry to factory and offices (single, three phase, computer data cabling and maintain all electrical equipment in all RBLI Divisions and properties, able to work in boiler houses, generator rooms, plant rooms, kitchens including the installation and commissioning of new machinery as required.
• Ensure that all emergency lighting, security systems and portable appliances are tested at the prescribed intervals. Produce reports on the above with estimated costs for rectification.
• With regard to project and capital works to work as part of a small team of qualified Tradesman to carry out minor projects and small capital works as and when required.
• Undertake and complete general works via maintenance requests issued by and or, as directed by the manager/supervisor.
• Completing written record sheets and ensuring that those requesting the work subsequently sign their satisfaction upon completion.
• Produce a list of items required to carry out a job of work, order and arrange delivery when possible or collect small items from designated suppliers and maintain a file of delivery notes pertaining to each job for onward processing.
• Be proactive in suggestions for improving current practices for role and to assist the team to develop a greater efficiency and work practices.
• Plan and organise daily activities to ensure completion to agreed deadlines with the minimum supervision. Provide the Maintenance Supervisor with a regular update on progress and ensure that any Health and Safety aspects have been properly noted.
• Carry out duties of being ‘on-call’ on a rota system and wherever practicable and within the acceptable bounds of safety, carry out “first aid” only on electrical/plumbing/drainage or building work to make safe and where possible secure until next working day, report defects to the PST supervisor the following working day so plans to carry out more substantial repairs can be undertaken.
• Undertake any other tasks as specified by the Maintenance Supervisor, Head of Property Services or Senior Manager.

Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
Current electrical qualifications:
• HNC/HND or level 3 City and Guilds qualifications in electrical installation, or equivalent
• 16/17th Edition
• Fault diagnosis
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Proven track record in delivering a diverse range of electrical works

Desirable:
• NICEIC or ECA
• 2391 inspection and testing.
