An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team to take responsibility for the development of our business by providing solutions based consultancy to our clients and prospects.

Our ideal BDM is a master at multi-tasking with a good sense of humour, a strategic mind with technical knowledge and a passion for building long lasting relationships that generate ongoing revenue for the business.

You will be expected to use your skills, industry contacts and the strengths of those around you to win new business, research leads, pitch and promote the agency. You’ll be outbound prospecting on email, phone and good old fashioned face to face meetings as well as responding to incoming enquiries, creating detailed proposal documents, negotiating terms and keeping clients up to date with their existing projects.

In consultation with the Directors, you will either liaise with the internal development team or negotiate and manage appropriate agreements for outsourcing development work. You will be the clients’ point of contact throughout. You will also need to proactively identify customer needs and provide consultancy, where appropriate identify opportunities and make recommendations in order to upsell products and services to help maximise opportunities and revenue.

As a technical agency, we provide a range of services including CMS websites, E-commerce websites, software development, database development, Mobile app development. We intend to drive growth in the near future and looking to become the largest supplier of these services in the south east of England. We expect the BDM to quickly become familiar with these services.

Knowledge growth is important for digital teams. We do not turn business away and the BDM should feel free to seek opportunities that go beyond our team’s existing skills or experience should they be viable and profitable for the business. Above all, solutions must be matched to the prospect’s needs and the BDM should feel free to identify whatever digital solution is required.

Key responsibilities

• Generate a strategy to attract business and increase conversions
• Ensure that new sales opportunities are sought out
• Ensure that all sales opportunities are fully captured and explored
• Ensure all clients receive a top quality, professional level of service at all times
• Create polished proposals, plans, presentations, pitches and other documentation
• Ensure that each client’s account and project is managed efficiently and effectively
• Understand clients’ business needs and assist clients in identifying new opportunities and strategies for growth.
• Provide a link between our clients, external developers and the internal digital production team.
• Freely share knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas and take part in regular “stand-ups”
• Oversee and ensure that all client details are kept up-to-date at all times.
• Work with the Directors to produce detailed and accurate briefs to external developers and/or internal development team regarding design and development work requirements
• Support the internal development team in developing industry-leading web/mobile/software development projects
