Social Enterprise Kent has established itself over the last 4 years as one of the main social enterprise bodies in Kent, giving advice to many charities and budding enterprises, and running training and employment services. We are a passionate believer in the power of social enterprise to effect positive change in our communities, and the importance of partnership working in all sectors.

Social Enterprise Kent is the lead partner in a partnership of organisations delivering the BIG Lottery Fund programme “Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better.” ‘Ageing Better’ is a national programme, comprised of 14 different areas nationally, all working to understand what helps people 50+ have a more fulfilling later life, reduce social isolation, loneliness and continue to be actively involved in their communities. All of this, whilst ensuring older people’s voices are heard and their views and participation valued more highly. We are part of a national evaluation which is taking the evidence and learnings from across the partnership to gather a body of evidence which can be used to shape future services for older people.

Our programme “Ageless Thanet” aims to reduce social isolation for older people in Thanet and will run until June 2020. The programme has been running successfully for 2 years and we now want to expand and embed its successes in Thanet and beyond, as part of our longer-term sustainability planning.

The Ageless Thanet Operations Manager will take over the day-to-day running of the project, working with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, to ensure that the programme successfully delivers on its ambition.
