Job Title: Import Planner

Location: Dartford

Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum



Import Planners! As the summer draws to a close I have a hot role available in Dartford offering a great basic salary that will certainly be a ray of sunshine! This position offers a genuine opportunity for you to build a career within a fantastic organisation!



I am currently seeking my golden candidate, an organised and experienced Import Planner/Clerk who is now looking to take the leap into a fast-paced and challenging role. My client are a hugely expanding distribution organisation who provide a friendly and supportive working environment and massive potential for you to develop as the business expands!



This is a Monday : Friday position on a permanent basis which is offering you the chance to learn, develop and build a career in Transport and Logistics within a company that rewards hard work and has clear career-progression structure.



The Role:



* Plan all activity for collections and deliveries across Europe based on customer requirements

* Plan round trip vehicles, minimising empty run and check margin

* Forward the loads to subcontractors when necessary

* Increase turnover by taking extra work

* Communicate with other planners/admin to ensure the planning is effective and drivers/subcontractors are informed accordingly

* Responsible for adding orders to the planning

* Check traffic sheets to ensure all the loads information have been added correctly

* Responsible for recording any non-conformance

* Take incoming phone calls from customers/suppliers

* Manage invoice queries

* Manage new customers/new hauliers and send application forms

* Responsible for entering demurrage/cancellation costs to the job and in company systems

* Maximise and monitor owner driver run and margin

* Undertake ?out of hours? duties to provide an effective service to customers

* Support each other in the team when necessary



Requirements:



* Confident in carrying out the above duties effectively

* Experience in an Import Planner/Clerk/Coordinator role is vital

* Experience dealing with haulier-focussed import is essential

* Experience dealing with freight forwarding

* Excellent administration skills

* Flexible approach to ?out of hours? rota

* Strong team player

* Eager to settle and progress within the transport and logistics sector

* Full Driving Licence preferred
